“For as long as I can remember, I have always been involved in team sports. I grew up playing soccer, volleyball, basketball, and practiced gymnastics. I continued throughout high school up until I began college. I decided to take a break from athletics during college and enjoyed not having to be at practices every day. Not too long after college, I realized how out of shape I had become and knew I needed to do something about it. Like most people, I got a gym membership, attended some classes and would workout using the machines. I did not see great results.

A few years later, I heard about CrossFit. I did not know anything about it when I signed up for the intro classes but I knew that I needed to do something different. Before I became a member at CrossFit Manassas, I was unhappy with the way that I looked and I knew that I needed someone to teach me how to work out effectively. From the very first intro class I was hooked. I saw more positive changes in my body in the first year of doing CrossFit than I did in the four years at a regular gym.

I love that I have made so many friends through the gym and feel like I am held more accountable for attending. It is nice that people notice when you show up and when you haven’t been in a while. It definitely gives me more motivation to go to classes even when my least favorite activity, running, is involved.

I have been so happy with the progress that I have made over the past two and a half years with my performance and the way that I look. I can definitely thank the knowledgeable coaches at CrossFit Manassas for playing a major part in that. I love that they always have an answer to my questions and suggestions of how I can improve.

I recently had a baby and I continued CrossFit throughout my entire pregnancy. The coaches would always find modifications for me so that I could still workout with the rest of the class. I know that I am in much better shape now, post-baby, than I would have been if I had not continued working out throughout my pregnancy. Now, I am working on getting back to my pre-baby body and fitness level. I know that I will get there with hard work and the help of some great coaches!”
