Who are you?
“I am a wife, dog mommy (of 3), and management consultant.”
How long have you been doing CrossFit, and how were you introduced to it?
“I’ve been doing CrossFit for about 9 months and decided to try it after receiving a fitness grant/bonus from work. I thought CrossFit would help me with functional chores and moving softener salt and chicken feed bags. Also, I figured if my tennis coach could do CrossFit and cool stuff (like pull-ups, muscle ups and cleans) then so could I!”
Why does coming to class matter to you?
“I feel better after coming and over time can tell I’m getting stronger. It’s been a great place to make new friends who are interested in some of the same stuff as me…Fitness! I’ve grown to the point where I miss it if I don’t come.”
What is your favorite lift/exercise/event? Why?
“I think my favorite CrossFit lift would be the Clean & Jerk. I think it’s a great representation of what your body can really lift and it shows off how powerful your Gluteus Maximus really is. It’s also super useful in real life if you need to get heavy things over your head, or if you need to put a dog in the bed of a lifted truck. 🙂 ”
“I love CrossFit – it’s perfect for me. I give an hour of my day and I get a full workout with weight lifting and cardio (and it’s functional!). With a busy life and long commutes I appreciate a gym that makes the most of my time and the hardest thing I have to calculate is how much weight I need to put on the bar. CrossFit Manassas also has a great vibe (we’re all here to workout no matter your fitness level) and wonderful instructors!”
